Necklace Search Saga:

Saga News Posts:

Before the great war started, and well before the land bridge was created, Myrtan society was much the same. 8 major tribes were spread over the vast plains, sparse woodlands, and rolling hills. But every tribe held something. A piece of the beginning of their people. Some say it was from the Gods, others say it was found within the earth. Either way, their ancient brethren discovered an assortment of gems and precious stones.
With these they created necklaces, given to the High Elders of their time. For a time they symbolized that Myrtan's character. His essence, soul, his true being. With the High Elders being mostly highly skilled shamans, they used the necklaces within their practices. Every necklace the Elders possesed amplified their powers to exemplary propotions.

Sapphire- The Elder of the coast chose Sapphire, for the blue reminded the Elder of the waters his tribe lived near.
Ruby- The Ruby reminded the Elder of the eruptions his mountain village would witness seasonally.
Topaz- The light color of the Topaz called to the Elder of the plains. It reminded him of storms that throw lightning, dancing across the skies.
Granite- One shaman Elder found that this Granite stone felt like his desert village. Although the rock was by no means uncommon, it felt like it pulsed with power.
Emerald- A shaman Elder took to this stone immediately. It's green glow helped him in his healing magic.
Diamond- One Elder felt the Diamond had purity the other stones lacked. Beyond simple beauty this shaman saw the sun, skies, moon...he saw harmony.
Black Diamond- Even held up against the brightest light, none shown through. This warrior Elder saw the dark night, and how nothing could withstand it, or measure up to it.

There were years of peace, and tranquility. Then followed the dark years of futile struggle. The ambition of the Black Diamond Elder was great, for he sought complete control over all the stones, which represented the tribes' power and lands. Many fell to his will, and died by the evil that blackened his heart, and his necklace. He managed to wrest control of all the stones, using their power to augument his own. The one who chose last, the 8th Elder, spoke. When he did, all heard. When his voice rang out, evil was weakened, and balance restored. From then on, all High Elders made a pact, even the corrupted soul. They would all keep the bloodshed from starting again. Years passed, and eventually each Elder died, and massive tombs were made within nature for them..then forgotten. Their necklaces, passed down for aeons until the land bridge...then they too slowly faded with time... Only the Eldest of the Elders still carries the memories of the past and can recall, with complete accuracy, the events of long ago. For that line of Myrtans was the descendant of the 8th Elder.

Now, the Myrtans accuse the Humans of stealing the necklaces and using them for themselves. The Human government knows that they do not have the necklaces, but as an act of goodwill towards the Myrtans, offer to send out search parties for the necklaces. Elite teams, trained in combat, set out to tackle all obstacles to find the necklaces.

Cyryn ducks behind the unsuspecting guard and fires a bullet from his silver pistol into the Myrtan's head. As the shot echoes throughout the third floor, Cyryn curses and dives into a doorway. Four Myrtan guards and two Human officers come running, searching for the source of the shot. Cyryn grins and tosses a grenade out, and laughs when it explodes, killing all six. Cyryn walks into the smoke, and towards the doorway of the central cylinder. He opens the door, and peeks inside...and frowns. No necklace? And what's that breathing sound then? He steps inside, and walks towards another, larger door. A massive prehistoric sabertooth tiger lies on the floor, sleeping peacefully. Cyryn's eyes go wide as he backs out of the room, and quietly closes the doors. They probably think it's some kinda god or something. How stupid.

The descendant of the 8th elder, sensing no remaining necklaces, summons everyone who came in contact with the necklaces to a secluded area in the Dreamworld using his powers as a Wraith. "I have called you here today to discuss the necklaces. I sense you have all have the ability to use the necklaces; some of you have the latent ability, while others have used this ability to use the necklaces. Very good, very good; I did not expect so much from you. You see, the necklaces cannot be seen by those who don't have the ability to use them. Yes, I definately did not expect you to get this far. The necklaces, please?" As some of the warriors move towards the elder to hand in their necklaces, an inhuman figure forms in the shadows behind the elder. Some warriors grin, some warriors recoil in horror. But all know that they must fight.
